City Lights

A city at night is overload for the senses--piercing headlights, speeding traffic, dark alleys for cautious inspection; eerie colors, shadowy vacant streets, wet-streaked sidewalks. And all of this is rendered colorfully in the camera.

Table of contents for this page:

    Main Street, Garrettsville, Ohio
I'm just in awe at what happened with this picture. They're just normal streetlights in a normal town.

    Rainy city street
The orange cast to this scene likens it to an old picture from decades ago.

    The Quad
The the University of Illinois campus quad. A three-second exposure brought a dull night to life!

    International Park, Toledo
Soaring trees of dreamy Christmas lights peppered over a park at sunset.

    Cleveland
The tiny hazy collection of skyscrapers in the distance is downtown Cleveland. I'm standing on a hill in Independence.

    Rainy wonderland
Emerging from a tangle of trees to find a beautiful... parking lot.

    Interstate
Traffic rushing down Interstate 480 in Independence, leaving taillight ribbons.

    City of Champaign, at night
Near the UI campus, teeming with business. Lots of red lights similar to a big city in Japan.

    City of Champaign, II
Champaign again, with even more carnival-like colors.

    Don't Walk
Your everyday street corner. Looking up at a Don't Walk sign in Toledo.
